Explore Hunza Valley │Tour Package 12D 11N Itinerary:

1st Day: Start of your tour.
  • When you reach Islamabad airport, meet and greet your guide for the tour Explore Hunza Valley.
  • After hotel placement and little time for relaxation, start city tour of Islamabad. Visiting: Faisal Mosque, Daman-e-Koh and Pakistani monument.
  • Before your goodnight sleep, have dinner in one of the popular local restaurants.
2nd Day: Pack and ready to flight for Skardu, first step to Explore Hunza Valley.
  • After breakfast you go back to Islamabad airport to catch the flight to Skardu. Enjoy the magnificent views during your flight.
  • When in Skardu, make short visit of the town’s main attractions.
  • At last, reach hotel and feel free to relax until the dinner.
3rd Day: Explore the fertile green patches and dry grey-brown contrasts.
  • Start the journey towards one of the oldest reginal towns called Shigar. On the way make a short stop in the lush greenery of the local Eco farm.
  • Before reaching Shigar, admire amazing views of the surrounding nature. It’s mixture of green patches of fertile land, dry Safaranga desert and sculptured peaks.
  • When in Shigar, enjoy local lunch and indulge into the mysteries of old town’s cobblestoned paths. Find your way to the oldest mosque and take in the fresh air.
  • Surely the temperatures are lower in the afternoon, that is why your visit of Safaranga desert is on the way back to Skardu. Until the dark you can climb the sand dunes and find your moment of silence chasing Scarabaeus rolling dung.
  • Quite late arrive back to the hotel.
4th Day: On the way to Karimabad – finally reach Hunza valley.
  • Not only today is one of your longer drives, but also the most scenic one. On the way to explore Hunza valley you make several photo stops, just to admire magnificent nature.
  • After longer drive and lunch break, you reach Karimabad – the ‘capital’ of Hunza valley.
  • Check in to the hotel and walk at your own peace leisurely around the city. Undoubtedly you need to visit one of the hidden shops in the cobblestone alleys.
  • Once tired enough, have some good rest to prepare yourself for the next day.
5th Day: Explore Hunza valley and old towns.
  • After breakfast the van brings you to the old town of Altit to explore more. Enjoy the view over Hunza valley from the fortress’s balcony. Peak inside of local houses and watch the life goes by under the apricot or walnut tree. Drink a cup of tea and try some local delicacy.
  • Later, return to have lunch at local restaurant. Walk up to visit Baltit Fort offering incredible panorama over the Karakoram peaks. Spend some time to admire the interior of the Baltit Fort and then slowly return to have a rest.
6th Day: Drive along the mighty Hunza river to Passu.
  • Particularly today, you can admire the mighty Hunza river along the way. Leave after breakfast and make a stop at the once famous inscription rock on the Karakoram Highway.
  • Then see the magical blue of Attabad lake, which was formed by natural disaster, but brought something new to Hunza valley.
  • Visit the small village of Gulmit and see the local crafts. It is the lunch time, so enjoy simple local vegetarian meal.
  • Since you live only once, take a chance to cross the infamous Husein hanging bridge, with the Hunza river flowing 40m under your feet.
  • At last, check in to the guest house and then just enjoy the view of Passu Cones. Dinner at the guest house.
7th Day: From Passu through Khunjerab National Park all the way to Khunjerab border crossing.
  • While on the way through scenic Khunjerab National Park, admire the nature on the curvy Karakoram Highway next to curvy Hunza river. Definitely some of the wild life can be spotted.
  • Reach and visit Khunjerab border pass between Pakistan and China. During the drive back, take short photo stops on the way. Stop at the bustling village Sost for lunch.
  • Eventually you come back and closer to Batura glacier view point. It’s a must stop for a photo with notorious glacier. Hear the movements of the Batura glacier.
  • Again, have dinner at your guest house.
8th Day: From Passu to Gilgit, where Hunza river changes the name.
  • Due to little longer drive, say bye-bye to scenic Passu Cones and drive all the way along Hunza river.
  • At Rakaposhi view point you can have a cup of tea or coffee and just admire the views.
  • Shortly after leaving Rakaposhi view point, you arrive to the ‘Colision point of two tectonic plates’ and make a stop.
  • Since you reached Gilgit already, it’s late lunch time. After the heat calms down, visit the town and local bazaars, Polo ground and walk over the small hanging bridge.
  • At last you reach the hotel, check in and time to relax.
9th Day: Long day on the road to reach the hotel.
  • Start today is earlier, because road ahead of you is unpredictable. Don’t worry, boredom is out of question due to scenery around you.
  • First stop for photography is ‘ Meeting point’ of three mountain ranges: Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu Kush.
  • Second stop is a must – The view of the notoriously dangerous Nanga Parbat.
  • Since road conditions are sometimes bad take into consideration the drive is all day long. Be assured you are going to make a stop for lunch and dinner on the way, before reaching hotel to sleep over.
  • After long drive take a quick shower and take a rest.
10th Day: Reaching Islamabad.
  • Departure after late breakfast. On the way to Islamabad visit Buddhist stupa in Taxila. The Stupa is important reminder when Indus valley was a thriving centre of Buddhist culture.
  • In between the drive, stop to have late lunch somewhere along the way.
  • Finally, reached Islamabad and check in to your room. (On this day we don’t recommend to plan your flight back, because you might not catch the flight. One more time the road conditions are unpredictable.)
11th Day: Islamabad and Ravalpindi – The day when your Explore Hunza valley ends.
  • Again, you can sleep a little longer and have a late breakfast. If you just want to relax at the hotel, of course you can.
  • Otherwise, start your day at vibrant bazaars in Ravalpindi. If you missed the noise, dust and city vibes – you reached the real Pakistan just now.
  • In case on the first day visiting Islamabad was not an option, you can still visit the sites today.
  • The tour Explore Hunza valley ends with your pick up time and departure to the airport. Since the flight might be in late evening or early morning, feel free to use your room until the pick up time.
12th Day: Explore Hunza Valley │ Tour Package 12D 11N officially ends.
  • Last, pick up at the hotel and arriving to the airport.
  • Your tour and exploring of Hunza’s longevity ends in the early morning.
